14th Sept - 32 out of the 50 places are now taken - hurry to reserve your place.

One to America, one to Iceland

3. County Alps Mountaineering Expedition 21st July-4th Aug Venue will be the Ötztal Alps in Austria, see here for a diary of the last trip.

Following a meeting on 14th June, we agreed to look to go to Austria We did comment (after a brilliant slide show from Geoff) that we would love to go back to the Dauphine Alps, and may well make that our destination for every other time (ie once every 4 years) as there is so much still to do.

4. UK wide Explorer Belt Expedition (Poland)

in their own words

"Explore Poland 2001

An opportunity to undertake an Explorer Belt in Eastern Europe.

Following on the success of the recent Poland Network Explorer Belt Expedition in 1999 (see Scouting Magazine, May 2000), the Poland Network is busy organising another for 2001. It is currently looking for Venture Scouts and Ranger Guides that are interested in the unique challenge.

Provisional dates for the expedition are 27th to 15th August. The expedition fee of £500 will include: return flights from London Gatwick to Krakow, travel insurance, all meals, regular newsletters and expedition T-shirt and a slap-up end of expedition dinner.
